Nail Art Inspiration: The Galaxy

I named these nails the galaxy...why? I don't know , that's just what they looked like to me :)

I decided to try out ANC (Amazing Nail Concepts) nails. It is supposed to be a healthier alternative for your nails compared to acrylic. They are not as bulky or thick, they don't damage or chip your nails, and they are very easy to remove. I finally found a nail shop that not only provides good customer service, but knows what they are doing. I've had the worst experience with getting my nails done at salons that I stopped going to them for years. To learn more about ANC click here.

Easy Steps To Keep Your Nails Looking Their Best!

I have a hard time maintaining nail length. My nails take a long time to grow and when they do they never last. Breaking every time they reach a certain length!
I personally always notice a stranger's nails when I first meet them. I don't necessarily judge people base on their nails, but to be honest your nails say a lot about you!

Here is my way of keeping my nails pretty and growing!
It is important before wearing fake nails to prep and clean your own nails first!
I usually soak my nails in warm water. Then wash them using a mild soap.
I will then push back my cuticles using a cuticle pusher.

Once I push back the cuticles I will take my handy dandy nail tool-the Cover Girl Queen Collection Portable Manicure System and clean my nails.

I shape and even out my nails using the shaping top.

Afterwards I buff them using the buffing top.

Although I could have used the emery top (pictured below) to shape my nails, I chose to use an emery board (also known as a nail filer) because it was easier to control.

Once my nails are cleansed and shaped I then rub vitamin E oil on them. Vitamin E is an essential oil for growth, especially for nails and hair. The bottle below was purchased from family dollar at a very affordable price!

At this time you are pretty much ready to place your artificial nails on! I am using Airbrush Nails which is only $1.00 at your local Dollar Tree Store! These nails last between 5-7 days, although I think on the box it says days 10 days. I always purchase multiple ones because I always seem to can't find an exact match for the other hand.

Using a nail glue place your artificial nails onto your nails. You can keep them whatever length you desire as for me I like to cut the artificial nails using a nail cutter. Making them the same length as my real nails and then filing them in order shape the top. It looks more natural in my opinion and it doesn't get in the way of typing, eating etc!

Once you are complete it is now time to polish your nails!

Here is the final look!

Here is another set that I did using a nude color nail polish.

In my next post I will explain how to remove your artificial nails with a lot less pain then you would expect :)
